How to read the table
Stay under 300 Wh for phones, a router, and a lamp. Use 512 Wh when the night includes a CPAP and little else. Stay at 768 Wh when you want spare hours on that same job. Stay in the 1 kWh row for a fridge during the day. Move to 2 kWh when the job is overnight food and lights. Outage sizing and fridge hours spell that out with loads.
1 kWh vs 2 kWh
A typical modern fridge uses about 1–2 kWh per day. A 1 kWh station covers part of that day after inverter loss. A 2 kWh station is the first size that can keep a fridge cold overnight and still run a router and lights. The units under 768 Wh are for communications and a CPAP, not food.
